The Wild West Coast of New Zealand is a place of remote, rock-strewn beaches, pristine lakes, ancient Podocarp forest, glaciers accessible by foot and looming snow capped peaks.

After visiting the sunny region of Nelson, the best way south is the Coastal Highway, stopping in to see fur seals near Westport and the spectacular natural ‘Pancake Rock’ formations at Punakaiki, to an overnight stop at Greymouth, the central West Coast town.

After enjoying our famous hospitality and the natural heritage and adventures in this area, catch the famous Trans Alpine Railcar to Christchurch or head south to remote and rugged landscapes, passing beautiful lakes, almost shanty pubs, and the glaciers before heading inland to Wanaka and Queenstown.
