Take a tour to the most isolated mine site on the West Coast!
At its peak, 100 people lived in the town of Big River and the mine that drew them there surrendered up 100,000 ounces of gold.
Your friendly guide will point out old mine shafts along the way. Some are still accessible, stop and check them out!....On arrival at Big River, take a walk to the last standing ‘popet head’ on the coast! Original mining shacks are still there ready for you to explore.
West Coast rainforest and mining relics from the first quarter of the last century are abundant on this big day out.
Tours leave ‘On Yer Bike’ at 9am, returning approx. 5pm
Bookings are essential and lunch and refreshments are provided for the day. We can pick up from your accommodation.
